30 Years of Boogiemania It’s hard to believe that the Boogie is celebrating a 30th birthday. It seems like only yesterday that we were cobbling an event together in a barren field. From Kendalville, to Atikinsonville, to Bean Blossom, and Lawrence County, the location has changed, but the spirit has always remained. What had started as a celebration of motorcyclist’s rights has become an annual pilgrimage for many. Ask anyone who has been to the Boogie and they will undoubtedly have a story or two about an experience of a lifetime. On July 15th create your own memories by joining your friends and family at this year’s 30th Anniversary Boogie celebration. Click here for a collection of photos from the past 29 years.
BONUS! Click here for a printable commemorative poster.
Special thanks to all the photographers who have contributed pictures throughout the last 29 years. |

| LCRP Hosts IXCR Event Sunday, October 18, 2009 Indiana Cross Country Racing (IXCR) hosted one of their annual competative events at Lawrence County Recreational Park on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in October. The turnout was great and the competition even better. Classes included young and old racers, on two wheels and four, racing through the park trails (mud and all) for some spectacular fun. This was the second event IXCR put on at the park this year. Keep an eye out for future events on their website for this great homegrown family event. Click here for photos |

2009 Red Bull Indianapolis GP Weekend August 28-30, 2009
This year's endless motorcycle activities turned out to be a spectacular time for everyone involved. If you were into motorcycles, Indianapolis was the utopian city, with beautiful weather, sport bikes, street bikes, dirt bikes, and a what appeared to be the world's largest biker block-party that stretched many blocks on Friday and Saturday night. Indianapolis Motor Speedway considered the weekend a success, local law enforcement called it a "relatively peaceful weekend", and a local sports writer noted that the crowd "appreciated our local hospitality." ABATE Motorcycle Day at the State Fair August 21, 2009
Yes, that’s right! ABATE of Indiana presents Motorcycle Day at the Indiana State Fair! This first-time event at the State Fair turned out to be a great day with perfect weather, several thousand motorcyclists, and all your favorite “fair food” (including chocolate covered bacon!?!) The days activities included: Tiny Tots and a toy motorcycle race track for the kids; motorcycle rodeo; stunts performed by AMA Trials Champ Geoff Aaron; vintage motorcycles displayed by Southside Harley-Davidson/Buell, AMA, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway; an invitational bike show; live music on the Hoosier Lottery Grand Stand featuring the Eclipse Band and Gypsy Harbor! Governor Daniels even rode in and spent some time with everyone as well. Click here for photos |

ABATE's Annual Ride with the Governor August 14, 2009
This year’s Ride with the Governor went better than we could have asked for. The weather, route, food and attendance were all great. We left the Statehouse with Governor Mitch Daniels leading more than 500 motorcycles and many of them stayed with us all the way to French Lick. We had a wonderful lunch on the Ohio River courtesy of the folks from Region 9 and some of their friends. We want to thank everyone that participated and enabled us to donate $5,500 to the Indiana National Guard Relief Fund. Click here for photos |
